Stand Up for Kids
Since 1994 Sacred Heart Academy has adopted STAND
UP FOR KIDS as our all school service project. This national organization
which had its beginnings in San Diego works with children who
are homeless and live on the streets.
Approximately one million kids, some as young as nine years
old, are forced to live on the streets. In San Diego there
are thousands of children who are living on the streets. Here
in Ocean Beach there are several hundred of these children.
Through STAND
UP FOR KIDS Sacred Heart Academy students are
able to do something positive for these children. Every Wednesday
is designated STAND UP FOR KIDS DAY at Sacred Heart Academy.
On these days we ask students to bring items to school which
will be passed on to the children living on the streets here
in our area.
Bring any of the below items to school on Wednesdays. Place
in the STAND UP FOR KIDS collection box located outside of
Fifth Grade.
